Congratulations Neville. Avatar was pure artistic and technical genius. I cannot get over the look of the film, and I cannot wait to see your contributions. Thanks a lot for the beauty of AVATAR and the inspiration.
Thank you. Yes, you can only imagine how much work there was!! I was on the project for 3 years full time! Hopefully soon I can share but we are still under tight non-disclosure restrictions!!
Hi there! I just watched Avatar and I thoroughly enjoyed the showed. It made me feel like Pandora do really exists! Avatar also inspires me to work hard as student and hopefully I can produce cool stuffs like the creatures & vehicles in Avatar! Hope to see more creature concept sketches posted on your website soon.
Hi Neville~ It’s Angie ~ one of your previous students in your char2 class (not sure if you remember me) but I just want to let you know that Avatar is an AWESOME MOVIE!!! And now I admire you even more !! haha
How kind of you Aviran. Thanks! However good that you think I am, you will be better. That is the beauty of how we progress…it is like a game of artistic leapfrog!
Thanks Lim.
I also feel like Pandora does exist. Actually, it is not out of the question! Maybe somewhere it does.
Hope to post some work soon.
Thanks for your comments.
I’m surprised you don’t have more comments here. What a great job! Really lovely stuff! When I saw the credits I recognized your name because I saw your name also in Star Trek, so I am purely a new fan who came via the movies. I hadn’t heard of you before that. Do you know if there will be any “Flora and Fauna of Pandora” type art books released? I would love to see that in a book! Such lush design.
Hey Neville… geesh i almost feel not worthy of calling you by your first name, i should call you Mr Page, I was already a big fan of your work before seeing this film, but after seeing it… my god i have to say your work is so amazing, and inspiring. hope you continue to do what you do for many many years to come.
I’ve seen this film this Tuesday on the IMAX screen in Sydney with my parents and I was blown away by the visual effects! So realistic and brilliant. You guys did a fantastic job with this movie overall!
Cheers!
Great work, Neville ! I look forward to seeing more of your works and I can’t wait for Tron Legacy ! Your works on film have truly inspired me to work harder as a CG artist.
Thank you for doing such a great job with the art work on this movie. It really means a lot to me and my family.
My son was first to notice your style of art when the movie came on. I was first to notice the matte paintings of Dylan Cole. We study your style and we love your work. -peace
This is my (now) #1 favorite movie of all time, it beats all others I have seen within the last 10 years (including all the Star Wars movies and LOTR movies combined) by FAR!
The movie was awesome, but all the morons are now making claims against it. The Pope himself said in the news that the movie displays that the worship of nature should be greater than the worship of God. Screw that! I’m Pagan, and Nature IS my worship! This movie was spiritual in many ways to me personally, and the graphics! OMG! Boy did I get some new creature design ideas! Awesomeness to the highest levels!
Avatar was the most amazing movie I’ve seen in years!
I’ve been trying to learn ZBrush for a while now, but now that I’ve seen your work, I am inspired to master it as you have.
Hi Neville,
Can i just say what an amazing film Avatar is, I have been a big fan of urs and i recently purchesd the art of avatar book and your work and the rest of the artists that worked on the film just inspired me so much all i enjoy doing is drawing and its because of people like you. So thank you for making my dreams come to life.
I’m your ardent Fan from the opposite side of the Earth!
This is the first time I write comment on your personal website in foreign language,English!! It is the most interesting challenge that I have ever done! When I first saw the creature of the film, I can guess who design those special creature. That was so amazing work.
If I become a famous artist in the future, I hope to work with ‘the Great Artist’,Nevile Page.
Hey Neville,
Loved all your work over the various films you have been a part of. But in particular Avatar. Seeing this movie and the amazing ability that you possess has inspired me into pursuing my dream of getting into this type of industry. As I am still in my final year of school, would you have any beginner tips for me?
Hello, I’m a student at the City College of New York and I’m a great admirer. Your work is very inspirational.
After watching Cloverfield I made this image http://newgstudio.com/armageddon-begins/ Thanks for your work.
Hi, Neville,
I just saw Avatar yesterday (finally) and was blown away. I just wanted to see more. Beautifully done, Congratulations!
The wheelchair looked vaguely familiar, too!

I just saw you on ‘Last Call With Carson Daily’ I love your work! I’m a huge fan!
You do have the coolest job on the face of the earth!
I hope that somehow, I can make it to where you are now… I am a writer, and an artist. (Hoping to become published) The creatures I come up with scare my friends, family and sometimes even myself. Most of my inspiration stems from my dreams, as well as everyday life.
It must feel amazing to watch something of yours come to life…That is my biggest dream, to have something of mine reach beyond the walls of my imagination. I don’t care to be famous, but I would love to work behind the scenes of a movie, doing anything as far as: Drawing, Sculpting, or even putting in the tiny meticulous hairs of a costume. Just for the thrill of knowing that I had a hand in such a creation.
My favorite part about watching a movie, is not only experiencing it, but going to the special features to find the art and learn of a creatures’ journey into creation.
I’ve been following your work for some time now, and I must say that it is incredible. I’m starting to recognize your influences before I know that I’m looking at one of your creatures. It’s something between the life-like flesh and the well thought out body construction that tips me every time.
You must be quite pleased that James Cameron announced to be making more movies ‘on’ Pandora?
It was so wonderful watching the making of Avatar this past weekend. Very interesting & inspiring! Checked out your Character Design – Fantasy Wildebeest DVD..it’s awesome!..great sense of humor Thank you for taking the time to share your talent with us students..
I like the Avatar 3D film, especially the story line, not only it brings a very new sensation but eye opening ideas of humanity. I heard the New Avatar 2 is comming soon, cannot wait to see it again…!

IT'S THE WORK OF THE Neville Page!
I'm a concept designer in the entertainment industry. My focus lately has been on
creature and character design but I still have a passion for object and environment.
I'm also a teacher at the Art Center College of Design and at the Gnomon School of
Visual Effects. Since May 2005, I've been completely busy on Cloverfield, Avatar,
The Hulk, Star Trek 2008 and The Watchman. Obviously, I can't share much from the
last 2.5 years of my work life (yet...), but I can at least tease you with the posters!
Thanks for dropping by! Feel free to join the discussion by leaving comments, and stay updated by subscribing to the RSS feed. See ya around!

Great work on the movie!
Love it!
Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the art of Avatar properly displayed the amount of great art and development that went into this film.
I sincerely hope you can better display your contribution to this film and the development process of the creatures.

Looking forward to seeing some of your developmental drawings from Avatar once you get the nod from the studios.
